Located east of Ellesmere Port on land between the Manchester Ship Canal and M56 motorway, the Protos complex is an industrial eco-park.
NW Groundworks has been instrumental in the development of the site and of the nearby Frodsham wind farm.
We have constructed pathways and roadways, installed footings, piles and drainage, and ducting for electric cables, as well as working on birdwatching paths for the Protos conservation areas.
Since Protos was launched over a decade ago it’s become a significant destination for energy, innovation and industry. Setting a blueprint for the rest of the UK, and clustering together pioneering technologies in energy generation and resource management that are leading the way on the journey to net zero.
The Protos project aims to develop power from sustainable sources that have yet to be fully utilised in the energy mix, while preventing waste from going to landfill.
