This recent project in Lancashire saw the NW Groundwork team install a new sewer connection on a quiet residential street.

Working within the highway required careful planning, experienced operators, and close coordination with local authorities to ensure the work was completed safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to residents.
The project involved cutting and excavating a section of the existing carriageway to access the drainage system below. Once exposed, a new sewer pipe was installed and securely connected, with all works carried out by NRSWA-trained operatives to ensure full compliance with street works regulations.
The trench was then carefully backfilled and concreted to provide additional protection over the pipe before the final tarmac reinstatement was completed, leaving a smooth, durable surface and a tidy finish.
Throughout the works, maintaining access and safety for residents was a top priority.
NW Groundwork contracted trusted partners SJP Traffic Management Ltd to manage the roadworks.
Working closely with NW Groundwork, the SJP team ensured all signage, barriers, and diversions were clearly managed and safely implemented. Their professionalism and efficiency helped the work to run smoothly and safely, minimising disruption for local residents.
This project reflects NW Groundwork’s commitment to #Excellence, #Safety, and #Trust – delivering high-quality results through careful planning, qualified teams, and strong partnerships on every job.
